Thou art with me....excerpt and my thoughts!

First of all I am not taking full credit for this post...the italics will be portions from the book Still Waters and Sky Scrapers.

The world is a scary place. Acts of terrorism make it seem even scarier. But we have a choice. We can withdraw and seek safety in isolation and submit to the fear and terror of what may be, or we can draw strength from the presence of the Shepherd-God and go out into that scary world. We can commit to creating an atmosphere of courage, trust and serenity, out of which the adventure of a new world emerge.

In life there are so many times that we want to fear life, and fear getting our hands dirty into what Christ has set before us....Fear that we will fail, FEAR of the person next to us, or even FEAR of the unknown...but one thing that I am beginning to Grasp is that PSALM 23 is not lying when it say "Thou art with me!"

No matter what we are going through, thoughts of ourselves, friends and relatives dying, loss of job, "YOUR" vote did not result in the president elect, relationship with someone just got cut off, or you are just doing amazing......whatever it is.....HE IS HERE, and is not going anywhere!!

Teens if you are reading this...I want you to know one thing, there is one constant in life, and that is the location of our GOD!!! HERE WITH US...every moment of every day....

So in closing I want you to do an exercise with me!! Close your eyes and out loud say the following:

THOU ART WITH ME
THOU ART WITH ME
THOU ART WITH ME

feel free to post your thoughts in forms of comments!!

Grace...we just don't get it!

Before I get to the blog, I want to give a shout out to probably my only reader, and if you read this, then prove me wrong by leaving a comment!! The BAHOY CLAN….anyways I say the BAHOY CLAN for the whole reason that I can honestly say I did not get what that meant until this last week…man I am ridiculously bright I know. I would send emails to this bahoyclan and finally figured out that it was the Brad and Angie Hoy, Levi and Hannah (as the whole clan) I was like, what are they thinking the bahoy clan, are they pirates or something!! LOL!!! So to Brad and Angie and the fam, sorry I screwed it all up and am now on the right track…TATAVIANO CLAN, that sounds like I am stuttering…ok so now for the BLOG!!
Luke 7
vs. 47 "I tell you, her sins-and they are many-have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little only shows little love."

The first thing in the verse is the realization that many sins have been forgiven, not one or two but like a quadrazillion (just made that up, you will not find that in any translation). So the first thing that I realize is that one thing I am good at is sinning, and one of the many things that God is good at is FORGIVENESS (grace). But only realizing that I am a good sinner is not the priority here, the true priority is understanding what God actually did for you! When He was nailed to the cross, He said your name. When He was hanging there he thought of you, and in fact I am pretty sure He died for that sin you will commit tomorrow as well! Now saying that, I am not condoning or encouraging you to continue to live in sin, because I believe that using God like a get out of jail free Monopoly card is wrong!!

Knowing that you are a great sinner is a start in understanding the love that God has for you! If you are in a place of saying that I deserve God’s love then you are in a place that you need to reevaluate where you are at!

After being forgiven for much is when you know how to show tons of love, for if you are only forgiven for a little, then you will just show a “little” love!

Religious people always show little love. They show love if a person deserves it. If they earn their approval they might love and accept a person into their little group.

So if you want to really experience the love that Christ has for you, after you realize you have been forgiven so much, surround yourself with the worst ex-sinners on the planet!!! People that have sinned so much, but have fallen into the arms of Christ and are in need of His grace to cover all of their sins!! Myself being one of them, and because I have been forgiven for so much, is the only reason that I can love people the way that I do!!

Father, help us love people until they ask why, and then keep loving them. Let your grace flow through the love that you have shown us!

Do you show little love or alotta love to those around you? Do you give the same amount of grace to others that you receive from God? Come this Sunday night, and join the discussion!

A complete chick flick, minus two guys..........yes I saw it??

So last night was a long awaited date night for the Taviano's. Angie was nice and took the kiddos over to her parent's house so I could get my exercising in for the day(now riding 10 miles a day on a bike, that consists of pedaling). After she got home we were in a rush because it was 5:35 and we had to be at the movie theater by 7PM....and we had yet to eat dinner.

We left the house and headed for La Charreada, which used to consist of me eating these crazy fattening nachos, but now have found that they have a nice La Charreada salad, called none other than, La Carreada salad. After eating we stopped at Speedway, so I could get a big water, due to the Movie theater keeping inventory of the pop they sale, by the cups that they use, and allowing you to have a dixie cup to drink water out of!!

We get to the movie at 6:55, walk in, Angie got a large popcorn and in we walked..to a theater half full of ALL WOMEN, and one other guy, who seemed to chuckle at being comfortable after one other guy walked in!!! We sat down, I made some jokes about being there, Angie said...you can go watch something else if you want...but truthfully I would not have wanted to be any other place!!!!

The movie started and for an hour and a half of my life....I really was quite suprised at my reaction to this movie!!! It truly is a great love story..and what it actually has taught me, is that the one you are with, that you are married to...needs to feel the same love for her when you first met her..

When you first meet her, you would go over and beyond whatever is necessary to keep a relationship strong, because you want it to be more than strong you want it to be PERFECT!! So midway through the movie, I grabbed Angie's hand and held it as if we were venturing off on a date back in high school....and she has not heard this yet..but I looked at her and said to God....Man you put me with a keeper, someone I do not deserve, but yet you know I need!!! You see many times in relationships we forget the feeling we had when we first met our spouse, and we become used to coming home, and having dinner there, or everything in order and truly take for granted what God has given you...and believe me I am not writing this because I am in the dog house....I do not think I am even an arm length away from the kennel at this time. I am writing this to show the importance of treasuring what God has given you here on this earth...so if you are married and you are reading this....realize what you have !! If you are dating and you are reading this...realize that this maybe the person that God has for you for life...and you better go above and beyond to make sure this is someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. If you are divorced and are reading this...realize that God has a redemptive mind and wants to place someone in your life that you can love all over again. If you are anyone reading this...realize that a relationship with someone else is only as good as your relationship with Christ!! If your relationship sucks, one of you probably need to get right with God!!!

So I leave you with this!!! She may not see it all the time, and I know I am not perfect...but man I definitely married up!!! and am soooo grateful to have the wife that I do...and I would even go see Nights in Rodanthe a second time!!!

Please Read Ephesians 5:25

Be Less of a Ship and More of a Rudder

In a world of who has this, and who has that, the statement above seems to not make any sense, but I will challenge you for the next few moments, to think about who is the captain of your ship, and are you hearing the right voice.
As I was in my quiet time today in the office, I was asking God to give me something that only He can give me…a thought for the day…a challenge to live this week by…a jumpstart to a week of having a clean cup…or in a few words of my friend Becky Tirabassi’s vocabulary…”a burning heart.”

Last week I was sitting at my desk as I normally do, and I was checking my email and something came into my inbox that I did not expect… a three sentence email from someone , who in the short amount of time that I have knew of her has challenged me to something that no one else has been able to do!

You see, a few months have passed since that July evening when we were in San Antonio as a youth group attending IYC….and were attending one of the general sessions, in which this lady that’s last name sounded like an Italian dessert to me was speaking!! Her name was – and still is Becky Tirabassi, and to be real honest with you, I was more pumped that week to see Louie Giglio and Efrem Smith, two people who I have looked up to for some time, and in fact would venture to say that Louie is someone I almost idolize in the sense of speaking. Anyways, up walks this lady onto the stage with blonde short hair, jeans and a pit bull sense that would make even our vice president Sarah Palin look like a yorkie. She talked about her testimony, talked about a burning heart, and challenged us to live a life completely set apart for God. She talked about her trip to Africa, and how she was completely shocked and did not know what to expect about the trip, but how God used her in a miraculous way. Many of you probably do not know my mom, but when I heard this lady, I was like, wow finally someone who is bolder than my mom….I have never seen this until this day!! So I wrote a note to Becky, and talked about my mom’s trip to Africa ,that is going on right now as we speak, and asked her if she could email her and be of some encouragement to her!! She did, and I thought that was cool, and was like, wow someone who challenged me so much as I was at IYC, took the time out of her busy schedule to encourage someone I look up to so much!! I know you are reading this and saying, Tug that is great…you seem to always meet neat people…who is it going to be next month…but this was different, because it did not stop at the conference!!

As I was sitting in my office last week getting ready for the day, a thought came to my head…as I am sure comes to yours from time to time!!! God, in a miraculous way today…please give me some encouragement!!! I need it, I know that I need to listen to you so clearly…but please, can you reach out to me and let me know I am doing this the way YOU want…..

An hour later I hit send/receive in Outlook Express…and in comes this email from a lady that I have been challenged by so much, and I know so many other people have as well.

Tug,
How’s your mom, do you have a burning heart, how far are you from BGSU?
Be encouraged,
Becky
www.changeyourlifedaily.com

Ok, so to you that may seem so stupid…to say you were jump started by that email…or something that small has impacted you so much…
To me the thing that impacted me the most was the way that Becky emailed me…it was sporadic…something just probably popped into her head and said..I need to email that Tug guy…whatever fashion it was…I know she was listening to God…and in the same day that I needed encouragement I got encouragement…in a way that I never thought I would!
This email to me is kind of like the story in Acts 27….please take the time to read…but remember the following statement:
Paul warned, "I see only disaster ahead for cargo and ship—to say nothing of our lives!—if we put out to sea now."

Acts 27 (the message version)
A Storm at Sea
1-2As soon as arrangements were complete for our sailing to Italy, Paul and a few other prisoners were placed under the supervision of a centurion named Julius, a member of an elite guard. We boarded a ship from Adramyttium that was bound for Ephesus and ports west. Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica, went with us.
3The next day we put in at Sidon. Julius treated Paul most decently—let him get off the ship and enjoy the hospitality of his friends there.
4-8Out to sea again, we sailed north under the protection of the northeast shore of Cyprus because winds out of the west were against us, and then along the coast westward to the port of Myra. There the centurion found an Egyptian ship headed for Italy and transferred us on board. We ran into bad weather and found it impossible to stay on course. After much difficulty, we finally made it to the southern coast of the island of Crete and docked at Good Harbor (appropriate name!).
9-10By this time we had lost a lot of time. We had passed the autumn equinox, so it would be stormy weather from now on through the winter, too dangerous for sailing. Paul warned, "I see only disaster ahead for cargo and ship—to say nothing of our lives!—if we put out to sea now."
12-11But it was not the best harbor for staying the winter. Phoenix, a few miles further on, was more suitable. The centurion set Paul's warning aside and let the ship captain and the shipowner talk him into trying for the next harbor.
13-15When a gentle southerly breeze came up, they weighed anchor, thinking it would be smooth sailing. But they were no sooner out to sea than a gale-force wind, the infamous nor'easter, struck. They lost all control of the ship. It was a cork in the storm.
16-17We came under the lee of the small island named Clauda, and managed to get a lifeboat ready and reef the sails. But rocky shoals prevented us from getting close. We only managed to avoid them by throwing out drift anchors.
18-20Next day, out on the high seas again and badly damaged now by the storm, we dumped the cargo overboard. The third day the sailors lightened the ship further by throwing off all the tackle and provisions. It had been many days since we had seen either sun or stars. Wind and waves were battering us unmercifully, and we lost all hope of rescue.
21-22With our appetite for both food and life long gone, Paul took his place in our midst and said, "Friends, you really should have listened to me back in Crete. We could have avoided all this trouble and trial. But there's no need to dwell on that now. From now on, things are looking up! I can assure you that there'll not be a single drowning among us, although I can't say as much for the ship—the ship itself is doomed.
23-26"Last night God's angel stood at my side, an angel of this God I serve, saying to me, 'Don't give up, Paul. You're going to stand before Caesar yet—and everyone sailing with you is also going to make it.' So, dear friends, take heart. I believe God will do exactly what he told me. But we're going to shipwreck on some island or other."
27-29On the fourteenth night, adrift somewhere on the Adriatic Sea, at about midnight the sailors sensed that we were approaching land. Sounding, they measured a depth of 120 feet, and shortly after that ninety feet. Afraid that we were about to run aground, they threw out four anchors and prayed for daylight.
30-32Some of the sailors tried to jump ship. They let down the lifeboat, pretending they were going to set out more anchors from the bow. Paul saw through their guise and told the centurion and his soldiers, "If these sailors don't stay with the ship, we're all going down." So the soldiers cut the lines to the lifeboat and let it drift off.
33-34With dawn about to break, Paul called everyone together and proposed breakfast: "This is the fourteenth day we've gone without food. None of us has felt like eating! But I urge you to eat something now. You'll need strength for the rescue ahead. You're going to come out of this without even a scratch!"
35-38He broke the bread, gave thanks to God, passed it around, and they all ate heartily—276 of us, all told! With the meal finished and everyone full, the ship was further lightened by dumping the grain overboard.
39-41At daybreak, no one recognized the land—but then they did notice a bay with a nice beach. They decided to try to run the ship up on the beach. They cut the anchors, loosed the tiller, raised the sail, and ran before the wind toward the beach. But we didn't make it. Still far from shore, we hit a reef and the ship began to break up.
42-44The soldiers decided to kill the prisoners so none could escape by swimming, but the centurion, determined to save Paul, stopped them. He gave orders for anyone who could swim to dive in and go for it, and for the rest to grab a plank. Everyone made it to shore safely.

As this chapter progresses you see the way that Paul was used by God to completely change the way others lives were being lived. He goes up to the centurion ,in the beginning and says "I see only disaster ahead for cargo and ship—to say nothing of our lives!—if we put out to sea now." What he hears is the spirit giving him a complete nudge saying…go tell this person this…and see if they listen. The story goes on, obviously they did not listen, and had to consistently throw things overboard and cut different anchors off to save themselves…ultimately ending in a shipwreck!

You see if the person receiving the advice from Paul, would have been in tune with Christ in the way that Paul was….they would have been a complete ship..but due to them having extra cargo in their lives, they ended up as a complete wreck…in which at the end had them jumping overboard to safety!!
So like this story…if I will take the words, that were about as few as the words that Paul gave the centurion!!! Mine were “Do you have a Burning Heart?” and really listen and seek God…and know that it was from Him…it may not be smooth sailing, but at least I will be heading in the direction that God wants me to!!
So often times we want to be the whole ship when ultimately we need to be the rudder!!!
Be the small vessel that is so powerful…let God move you in ways that you do not see!!!
Keep it Flowing,
Tug

Randy Couture (my favorite) and other christians in MMA

Christianity in Mixed Martial Arts written by Robert Rouseeau

At UFC 68: The Uprising, Randy "The Natural" Couture once again came through in the clutch by beating Tim Sylvia for the UFC Heavyweight Championship Belt. Of course, it's hard to get surprised by a Couture upset victory.
After all, he's come through under similar circumstances on numerous occasions (most recently against Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell back in 2003). However, during the after fight interview with Joe Rogan, Couture did surprise- to an extent- by affirming a religious belief that casual fans may not have been aware he held.

"Something was said to me recently," Couture told Rogan. "Why do you believe in America so much? And the answer was (that) there's two people - Jesus Christ, who stepped up and died for our sins, and the American GI that steps up and dies for our freedom on a daily basis. This fight is for them!"

On that same night, Rich "Ace" Franklin fought for the first time since suffering a devastating defeat at the hands of Anderson "The Spider" Silva. The opponent? Jason MacDonald, a man that had won his last six fights. The result?

Franklin dominated the fight and took home a TKO victory after the second round. Following this, everyone knew that Franklin's Christian religious beliefs would be voiced. After all, Franklin had been making his feelings known about God for some time now. And once again, he didn't disappoint.

"I want to give thanks to God (for) seeing me through my training this time," Franklin said.

By the way, we're hardly talking about UFC 68 alone here. Along with this, at UFC 63 on September 23, 2006, Matt Hughes took on B.J. Penn in one of the most talked about rematches in MMA history. In short, this ended up being one of the greatest mixed martial arts battles of all time.

In the first round, Penn showed his ability to shirk Hughes's takedown attempts and out strike the then champion; in the second, Penn almost triangle choked the 'country boy' from Iowa.

But then the third round came. In a fight that looked as if it was decidedly going in the other direction, Hughes staged a furious comeback that eventually ended with the referee pulling him off of Penn as he rained down unanswered punches (Penn was in the crucifix position). Afterwards, Hughes answered Joe Rogan's questions about the sticky situation early on in the fight with a sense of pride and more.

"I knew I had all my guys in my corner; they weren't with me, but they were in my heart. Just like the Lord Jesus Christ was with me, so I had no doubt."

Strong words, huh? By all of them, actually. And the aforementioned are hardly the only UFC mixed martial artists talking about God openly on television. How about Diego Sanchez? How about when the TUF 2 fighters and Rich Franklin were found quoting scripture in the house? It's rampant.

Further, whether you're a believer or not you have to note the obvious.

Those who have strong religious beliefs seem to be doing great in MMA.

Think about the names. Randy Couture - can you say UFC Hall of Famer, anyone? - Matt Hughes (arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time), Diego Sanchez (TUF 1 Champion), and Rich Franklin (a former UFC Champion). All of these fighters are clearly believers. Further, they are openly using post fight interviews and more to voice their feelings on religion.

In other words, the aforementioned are some of the best MMA has to offer and also have strong Christian beliefs. This, of course, begs a question.

What does the correlation between success in MMA and strong religious beliefs mean?

The answer will depend on your slant. Perhaps you believe it's just a coincidence (after all, there certainly are highly successful MMA fighters out there that don't note significant religious beliefs after fights). Others may believe that it's because these great fighters believe in something (as opposed to nothing) and that's always a recipe for success. Still others might simply acknowledge that Christianity promotes good living. Plain and simple: good living is good for fighters.

And then, of course, there are many Christians out there that believe Jesus Christ is more than just an idea. Thus, these people may believe that it is actually Jesus Christ - God himself - that is behind these fighters' successes. Regardless, their success is a fact. Further, this combined with their beliefs and the way they run their lives equates to something.

Credibility. And that's important, because whether these fighters are simply opening their hearts to the public or are truly attempting to reach the masses and spread their beliefs, one thing is for sure.

In the end, the UFC stage is a great pulpit.

In sum, Christian beliefs are regularly being professed during Joe Rogan post fight interviews at UFC events. Further, some of the greatest mixed martial artists in the world are those discussing God the loudest on this stage. Is it a coincidence that some of the most successful MMA fighters in the world seem to be the biggest proponents of religion? Probably not. What does it all mean?

Well, that's for you to decide. Here's what we do know, though. This is just another reason why mixed martial arts is a sport of respect and admiration. Whether you're a believer or not, you have to tip your hat to people that could be full of themselves 24-7 but instead choose to stay humble and acknowledge that their successes are not about themselves alone.

After all, no man (or woman) walks alone. That's something we can likely all agree on.

Constipated Christianity

Not giving a crap what others think of you!

I know what you are thinking, how can he use an analogy about poop, and use it for God's glory, how can you even think to write a blog about Constipated Christianity. It is simple, I know this is what God has given me to talk about, and I pray that I will use the words right!!!

You have been there as a teen, or as an adult, you have asked the questions: What do others think about me? Where am I at on their hot or not list?
Why am I not on their top 8 friends list, let alone 16 on myspace? Why does he not call me? Why do I never get the date, the pick in sports, the choice of where we are eating, the acknowledgment for what I have done?

Not that some of these questions could be healthy in checking your relationships, but alot of times this is where you will get hung up, and all of a sudden your self-worth will die. You will begin doubting the God that created you in His image (Genesis 1:27) and want to give up on the life that He has created for you. If God commands us in scripture to Love our neighbor as ourselves (Leviticus 19:18) than what are you suppose to think about yourself. If you let what others think about you in a way that is more important than God, then you are going against the command that God has given us. He does not say, love yourself as much as what this person thinks of you, He says Love others like yourselves!!!!!

I have been one in life who has always found acceptance of others to be one of my top needs, and one who will go out of his way to make this person happy, in a sense of feeling acceptance from that person. Until recently, everyones' opinions mattered of me, and I would value them, basically more than that opinion of God, which would lead to spending more time in preparation on how others view me, instead of How I am living in God's eyes. If I am truthfully living in God's eyes as well as I can, than my Christianity will be constipated, in a way, that I will not let others opinions of me, affect the way that I am serving God.

Do I still value these people and truthfully hear what they have to say, YES. Do I bow down to them and give them Lordship over my life that I am only supposed to have one God over, no. If I am created in God's image, than I am created in His, and that is where I need to stay. I am not created in Tom, Billy Bob, or Joe's image, I am created in God's, so that is where I need to stay.......

Stay tuned for the next installment (for lack of better word ) of Constipated Christianity, not giving a crap what others think of you!

Billboard for Concert

This will be the billboard for the concert next week, it is going up tomorrow, or at least uploaded. McDonalds, one of our key sponsors, is putting it into their rotation, on Cable Rd. and Elida Rd's Digital Billboard. So if you are sitting at that traffic light, look up and you may see it. It is getting nerveracking, if that is how you spell it, but yet it is getting to be fun as well. I am pumped for this concert, and pumped to see what God is going to do. Please be praying for the concert, and for lives to be cultivated for Christ that night!!! Do not forget, or maybe I want you to, about the TV44 airing of Grace Today at 9 a.m. on Thursday.. Well keep us in your prayers, as hours are going to be crazy this week and next, and pray that I will stay grounded spiritually, it is easy to be getting busy, and just getting caught up in all that is going on!!! Pray that I will maintain a focus on Christ, and not on the busyness of this schedule... Welp, talk at you later

What A Ride!!!!!

I want to clue you guys in on a radical, and yes I mean a complete radical...One who I have often times referred to as I am walking in my journey as a youth pastor. One who does not have it all together, whose life is a mess, and who is continuing to learn about Jesus, and how to walk with Him... This guys name is Mike Yaconelli, and he passed away a few years back after he gave this message at a youth conference. If you will please watch all of this, and then leave me a comment on what you thought!! I know, mom, you may have to wait to watch this til you are at my house, but I encourage you to remind me to watch it!!!! Man this guy is amazing, I have been presently studying his book called MESSY SPIRITUALITY, and classify it as a must read !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So watch the video, and then I will come back to the blog afterwards...Mike died in a car accident.

What is so neat about this video, is the fact that he truly knows where He was called in life, and the fact that he would push the envelope is just evidence of who he is in Christ. You may not agree with his terminology of some things, but he is real. You may not agree with his methods, but he is real. You may not agree with the way that he looks, and really he does not care. What he cares about is God!! What he cares about is being there for the teens. What I have learned from this, is my office can be here at the church, but that does not mean that I have to hunker down there and plan all day, it means I need to be out seeing my teens regularly, showing up at their schools at their sporting events, going to mickey d's with them, and doing life with them. At this current time, we have some teens in our youth group, that not too many churches would want in their church, ones who possibly do not believe in God, ones who claim that they really do not think that much of Jesus....But man I am glad our church is the way it is when it comes to these things, and in all honesty if it was not, then I would have to get grounded every week by allowing them to come,lol....Right now I am so encouraged by Mike, and by God, that I am where I need to be, and teens, we need to focus on each other, and focus on being Jesus, although unlike Jesus, we will never get it all right......you may be a mess, but Jesus loves you right where you are at, and as I read a christian shirt..... He loves the hell right out of you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing sentence, and realization that because of Jesus' love,we who believe in Him and live with Him, will never have to experience that !!!! Our job, to clue people in on God's love for them......man what a ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please do not view the video as someone being a rebel, but someone being who God has created him to be, and who we all need to be!!!!

Until Tomorrow....or maybe later tonight

Where are you, Tug????

LOL, what a title for a blog, but yet it is really kind of interesting.....in my studies this week, as I am studying experiencing God, right along with the teens, and then discussing it with about 15 of them every wednesday night, I have realized that God is always looking for us in fact, I thought it was amazing this week in Day 3 and 5 of week 3 Where God came seeking after Adam and Eve, even though they have sinned against Him, He once again sought after them, although there outcome of getting kicked out of the garden was not the greatest, I think it is amazing that God had fellowship with them every day.....walking in the garden with them!!!! Then when they sinned God came after them to restore their relationship.....Was he happy with them, He went to find them, even though He knew exactly where they were, and that they had sinned against Him... In Genesis 3, you will see the story, that they were hiding from God after they sinned, as many of us sinners do, we hide from God and do not want to ...i guess man up to our sins!!! Well here is a perfect story of God's love, not only did He know where they were, but He knew exactly what they did, but yet found and asked the perfect Love Relationship question!!!!! "WHERE ARE YOU , HE SAID?" (Gen. 3:9) God knew that something had happened to their relationship, because they were not in His presence!!!! You see, when your relationship is what it should be, we will always be with the Father,we will be ready and waiting for his next move!!! Instead sometime, we like to try and take ourselves, and hide from God!!

What I really am discovering, is rather than us running after God, God runs after us as well, HE TRULY WANTS TO BE WITH US.....And even when we sin against Him, He wants to provide for us....In this story, although they sinned and were ashamed, God still provided them with clothes to cover up with!!!! WOW, what an expression of love that I truly have never seen!!!! God, pursues us, provides for us, and then will not leave us alone.......as Monica in our youth group calls God, HE IS OUR STALKER!!!! The sad thing is sometimes we do not see Him, and sometimes when we do, we run our own way, and try and get away from Him, still to find out that He is right there where we left Him, the question is why do we run, why don't we just give this relationship what every relationship deserves, our undying love!!!

I know in my relationship with my wife, a big thing is the time that we spend together is about us, and we shut everything out.....well at least we need to!!! along with my relationship with God, I am seeing this about my wife too.....but just like every relationship, time is a big thing, and God wants us to spend that with Him....If Adam and Eve would have stayed in His presence, what would this world be like today?????

So my challenge to you, is to encourage you to really relate to God, and let Him know where you are at, alot of times as Christians, we feel that God knows where we are at anyways so why do we need to tell Him....In a relationship, conversation is not just one way, so we cannot leave it at that.........

so what I am learning is to try and hear God before he knocks!!!!

Rev 3:20 says, "Here I am!! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with ME."

You see if I am in God's presence, He will not have to knock, the door will already be open, and He knows where His seat is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welp, hope this was encouraging to you!!!! And Dennis, if you read this one, I LOVE YOU BRO, THANKS FOR THE REPLY, AND I MISS YOU AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until Tomorrow

The Woman behind my FAITH

I want you to right now sit back and think of those who have impacted your life, those that you can never get out of your head, those who you have had great times with, you have cried on, skipped school to spend time with, danced with when they never would dance with anyone else, learn from, get a ruler broken over your rear by this person, could'nt wait to hear this persons' voice on the other end of the line, was driven by, encouraged by, loved by, and you can honestly say that if it were not for this person in your life, you would definitely not be the person that you are today......I know alot of those items that you read, you could probably not relate to....but that was Grandma to me......

This Blog site, is dedicated to her, the woman behind my faith, the woman behind my mom's faith. I really want you, who read this to see the severity of the impact that you can have on one individuals life. My grandma was that to me!!!! It has been over 2 years since her battle with brain cancer was brought to an end, and the time was right for God to take her home, or at least that is what He wanted to do. I still cannot bear thinking of life without her, and I wish that it was not real.....that is the reason that I have only visited her grave once since she has passed away.....I cannot think of her being gone....It truly tears me up!!!!! Anyways, this lady was everything to me, growing up, I would act like I was sick, to miss school and just spend time with her, listening to her do her victory song, after beating me in board games, til the end when it hurt so bad to have her at home, and know that she could not play that game with me anymore, because of the effect that this cancer had on her!!!!! When you love someone so much, it is so hard to let go, and I am praying that God will give me that, not that I want to let go, but just that it would be easier!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the woman behind my faith (sorry I am rambling) but when I talk about this, I have so many thoughts in my head!!!!
In 1 Timothy 1

Encouragement to Be Faithful
3I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. 4Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. 5I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. 6For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
8So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, 9who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 11And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. 12That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

This passage is the passage that I hang on to, I know without a shadow of a doubt, that my faith would not be as existent, if it was not for my grandmother, who passed it on to my mother, and then to me!!! Every day of grandma's life was spent trying to impact others for Christ, even while she had cancer she was witnessing, and if I remember right, at her funeral, one of the nurses that took care of her, trusted Christ!!!!!!!! up until the end she was committed!!!!

I do not want to get rid of my thoughts of Grandma, but I want to be renewed by them, I want to be renewed by the Holy Spirit, I want to be the person that Grandma was to God, a fully devoted follower, with none of her self in the mix, and I may even break out in the victory song from time to time....So as you are possibly gonna start reading these blogs, I want you to know that I am going to do my best to be renewed in Christ daily!!!! What a great way to do this, write a message to others about what is going on in your life spiritually and hope to impact them only by Christ!!!

So in closing what I would like to add, and I know this is really long!!! There is this song that is out by disciple, and I have changed some of the lyrics, as if I would write it to grandma!!!!

The song is called Things left unsaid-Disciple

It's just a matter of time a few years ago
I saw you, you were fine
Remembering what you said
About the book you read
The one that taught you
‘bout the Beginning and the End
Oh how we'd talk
For hours upon end
What I would give Just to do it again
But you're lying there In this hospital bed
Won't you open your eyes And let's talk once again

If you fly away tonight I want to tell you that I love you
I hope that you can hear me I hope that you can feel me
If you fly away tonightI want to tell you that I love you
those were the last words you told me When we were face to face

Well I've been here all night
And I'm watching you Breathe in and breathe out
I wish this weren’t youI wish this was a dream
I wish you’d have life And then it would seem
That there could be hope I could say to your face
If it weren't for you That there would be no grace
That's covered my life You took the time
To speak into my mind And my heartWords of life

If you fly away tonightI want to tell you that I love you
I hope that you can hear meI hope that you can feel me
If you fly away tonightI want to tell you that I love you
those were the last words you told meWhen we were face to face

So goodbye for now
And I'll see you again Some way, somehow
When it's my time to go to the other side
I'll hold you again And melt at your smile
Now all I have Are the ones that I'm with
And you taught me not To take for granted
The time that we have To show that we care
Speak into their minds And their hearts While they're here
And say I love you

If you fly away tonightI want to tell you that I love you
I hope that you can hear meI hope that you can feel me
If you fly away tonightI want to tell you that I love you
those were the last words you told meWhen we were face to face
